After five busy and rewarding days, the 28th Pet Fair Asia came to a close on August 23 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, bringing another memorable gathering of pet brands, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and industry professionals to an end. For Kudi, however, the five-day exhibition was about much more than simply presenting products; it was an opportunity to reconnect with long-standing customers, meet new partners from different markets, exchange ideas about the future of the pet industry, and gain a clearer understanding of what today's buyers are looking for from a reliable pet product supplier.
At Booth E1S21, the atmosphere remained lively throughout the exhibition, with existing domestic customers stopping by to discuss their plans for the second half of the year while an increasing number of international visitors came to explore our product range and manufacturing capabilities. What stood out most from these conversations was that international buyers were not simply focused on price, but were paying increasing attention to product quality, delivery schedules, customization capabilities, and the overall ability of a supplier to support their business over the long term.
For us, these conversations were among the most valuable parts of the exhibition because they provided a direct opportunity to understand how customer expectations are changing across different markets. A successful trade show is not only about how many visitors come to a booth or how many products are displayed; it is also about listening carefully to customers, understanding the challenges behind their purchasing decisions, and turning those conversations into better products, stronger manufacturing capabilities, and more reliable partnerships.
At this year's Pet Fair Asia, Kudi presented hundreds of products across a broad range of pet care categories, including pet grooming tools, pet nail clippers, retractable leashes, pet grooming appliances, and pet toys. The extensive product lineup allowed visitors to explore different product concepts and applications while also giving our team an opportunity to discuss OEM, ODM, and private-label requirements with customers looking for products that could be adapted to their own markets and brand positioning.
Among the many products presented at the exhibition, several products attracted particular attention because they combine practical functionality with features designed around the changing needs of modern pet owners.
The ionic and mist grooming brush combines two functions within one grooming tool, using ionic technology and a mist function to address some of the common challenges encountered during everyday pet grooming. By helping reduce static while making grooming more convenient, the product reflects a broader direction in the pet care market, where traditional grooming tools are increasingly being enhanced with additional functions and technologies that can improve the experience for both pets and their owners.
For pet brands and distributors, this type of product also represents an opportunity to respond to consumers who are looking for more functional and differentiated pet care products rather than simply choosing another conventional grooming tool.
The lighted retractable leash was another product that attracted interest during the exhibition, particularly because it combines the flexibility of a retractable leash with added visibility for evening walks and other low-light situations. As pet owners in many European and North American markets increasingly incorporate daily walks into their routines throughout the year, products that combine convenience, visibility, and practical safety features can offer a meaningful advantage in everyday use.
The response from visitors also reinforced an important point for product development: products do not always need to become more complicated to become more valuable, as relatively practical features can make a noticeable difference when they address a genuine need in a specific usage scenario.
Our high-capacity pet grooming appliance was also among the products showcased at the exhibition, with its larger capacity and practical design aimed at making pet grooming and hair collection more efficient for both professional and home users. As more pet owners become interested in maintaining their pets' grooming routines at home, while professional groomers continue to look for products that can improve working efficiency, grooming appliances are becoming an increasingly important part of the wider pet care market.
For B2B customers, product performance is only one part of the equation, and the ability to develop, customize, and manufacture products according to specific market requirements is equally important. This is why we continue to pay close attention not only to product design, but also to manufacturing consistency, quality control, and the flexibility required to support different OEM and private-label projects.
One of the clearest impressions we took away from this year's exhibition was that the conversation between suppliers and international buyers is becoming increasingly focused on the overall value of a product and the reliability of the supply relationship rather than on unit price alone. While competitive pricing remains important in any purchasing decision, buyers are increasingly looking at whether a supplier can maintain consistent quality, meet agreed lead times, provide stable production support, and adapt products or packaging to meet the specific requirements of different markets.
This is particularly relevant for distributors, wholesalers, retailers, and pet brands that are building their businesses over the long term, because choosing a supplier is ultimately not simply a matter of finding a product at the right price, but of finding a manufacturing partner that can consistently deliver the required quality while responding to changing market demands.
The conversations we had at Pet Fair Asia therefore gave us more than immediate business opportunities; they also provided valuable insight into the direction in which the international pet product market is developing. From our perspective, the growing emphasis on quality, lead time, customization, and product differentiation is encouraging, because it creates greater opportunities for manufacturers that are willing to invest in product development, quality management, and long-term customer relationships.
Another trend that was evident throughout the exhibition was the growing importance of functionality and user experience in pet product development. Today's pet products are increasingly expected to solve specific problems or improve everyday routines, whether that means making grooming easier, making evening walks more visible and convenient, or helping pet owners manage loose hair more efficiently at home.
This shift is changing the way products are developed and evaluated, because a successful product is no longer defined simply by whether it performs its basic function; it also needs to fit naturally into the lives of pets and their owners. The combination of practical design, useful features, reliable performance, and appropriate customization is becoming increasingly important for brands that want to differentiate themselves in a competitive market.
For manufacturers like Kudi, this means that product development cannot stop at simply producing more products. It requires a continuous understanding of how pet owners use these products, what problems they encounter in everyday life, and which improvements can genuinely make pet care more convenient, comfortable, and efficient.
While products remained at the heart of our participation in Pet Fair Asia, the exhibition also provided an opportunity to share another side of our work through our Coolbud brand. During the event, Coolbud joined hands with Shanghai Adoption Day in support of the idea of “Adopt, Don't Shop,” encouraging more people to consider adoption and promoting a more responsible approach to pet ownership.
We also supported the research for the 2026 Pet Industry Blue Book and received the 2026 Blue Book Contribution Award for our contribution to the industry research.
For us, these activities represent a broader understanding of what it means to be part of the pet industry. Pet products ultimately serve a relationship between people and animals, and the development of a healthy pet industry depends not only on better products and stronger businesses, but also on greater awareness of responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and the long-term development of the industry itself.
Looking back on the 28th Pet Fair Asia, what we remember most is not simply the number of products displayed or the number of visitors who came to our booth, but the conversations that took place around those products and the relationships that continued to grow throughout the five days. Long-standing customers returned to discuss new plans, international buyers came with new questions and sourcing requirements, and our team had the opportunity to listen, exchange ideas, and better understand the expectations of partners from different markets.
We would like to sincerely thank all of our long-standing partners for their continued trust and support, as well as every customer and visitor who took the time to stop by Booth E1S21, explore our products, and share their ideas with our team. Your visits made the preparation behind the exhibition worthwhile, while your feedback and trust continue to give us the confidence to move forward.
Although the five-day exhibition has come to an end, the conversations and opportunities created during the event are only the beginning. Just as our pets never seem to stop running, exploring, and discovering new things, our commitment to product innovation, quality improvement, manufacturing capabilities, and customer service will continue to move forward as we work to develop better products and more reliable solutions for pet brands, distributors, retailers, and partners around the world.
The 28th Pet Fair Asia may now be behind us, but the journey continues, and we look forward to meeting more partners, developing more ideas, and creating more possibilities together along the way.
See you at the next exhibition.
